Guest Podcast: Ms. V, The Storyteller

Recently, I had the opportunity to be a guest on a podcast about being a storyteller, and I must say, I loved every moment of it.

Ms. V The Storyteller Podcast is a podcast for anyone who has lost their voice and wants to get it back. Ms. V lost her voice at a very young age and it took years of pain and hurt for her to get it back. On this podcast Ms. V will bring to you, personal stories that will make you laugh, cry, think, heal, and in some cases, propel you into making new and better choices.

The podcast host, Ms. V was incredibly welcoming, and the experience was truly enriching.

From the moment I received the invitation to be a guest on the podcast, I knew it would be an exciting opportunity. As a photographer, I’m constantly thinking about stories and how to be a better visual storyteller. Storytelling is a subject that has always fascinated me. Being able to share my insights and perspectives on storytelling with a wider audience was a unique and exciting experience, and Ms. V taught me so much!

Our conversation started with some general questions about what makes us all great storytellers. Then we discussed one of her recent stories she shared called, “New York For The First Time.”. Ms. V’s story reminded me of my first trips to New York City and other places I’ve been. Her thoughtful questions prompted me to think deeply about the intricacies of storytelling and how it can be used to connect with audiences in various ways.

Throughout the podcast, I shared my views on the importance of storytelling in various fields, from marketing and photography to personal branding, business, and even education.

What I enjoyed most about the podcast was the opportunity to share a short story I had written with Ms. V and her audience. It’s called, “The Heights of Brooklyn” and it’s specifically about an unexpected photo I took while walking across the Brooklyn Bridge late at night. I wrote this story along with 9 others for a series called, “HER” which was exhibited in a gallery show in 2018. It was through writing these 10 short stories that I started to really understand what it means to be a storyteller.

The diverse experiences and viewpoints that were shared on the podcast enriched my understanding of storytelling and helped me appreciate its power even more. In fact, talking about stories so much reminded me of past articles I’ve written about my philosophy of photography and storytelling. For instance, “The Possibilities of Perspective.” and “Our Most Powerful Creative Key“.

Being a guest on Ms. V The Storyteller Podcast made for a memorable and enriching conversation. I hope to have the opportunity to participate in more discussions like this in the future, as I continue to explore the fascinating world of storytelling.
