Some students want to understand every camera setting. Others learn best by photographing animals, flowers, sports, people or the places they explore. That is why every lesson begins with the student—not a rigid lesson plan.

A Photography Classroom Surrounded by Nature
In-person lessons take place on my private Lake Helen property, where gardens, animals, natural light, movement, textures and changing seasons give students endless subjects to explore.
Students can practice new skills as they photograph the world around them, then bring their images inside to review, organize and edit together on a large screen. Every visit offers something different to notice, create and capture.

In Person in Lake Helen, FL
Students can learn on my private Lake Helen property, surrounded by gardens, animals, natural light and constantly changing opportunities to practice.
Students can also review and edit their photographs on a large screen.
On Location in Central FL
For students who want to practice at home, photograph a particular subject or learn at a sports field, garden, business or other approved location.
A small travel fee is calculated based on the location.

Lessons
Students can learn camera settings, composition, visual storytelling, Lightroom editing, photo organization, portfolio development and more through live guided sessions, all from the comfort of their home.

Once the reservation is complete, you’ll receive the appropriate scheduling link and lesson-preparation information.
You will not need to guess which marketplace service to purchase. I’ll guide you through the correct selection after reviewing your questionnaire.

I’m an award-winning professional photographer and educator with more than 16 years of industry experience.
For the past eight years, I’ve taught my photography curriculum to students with different ages, interests, cameras and creative goals. My approach combines professional experience with patient, personalized instruction that helps students understand the technical side of photography without losing the creativity that makes it exciting.
Photography transformed how I experience the world. It taught me to slow down, notice the extraordinary in the ordinary and tell stories with intention. Now I help students develop those same skills—and discover their own way of seeing.

No. Students can begin with a smartphone or a camera they already own. If your student is ready to purchase a camera, please contact me before buying one so I can help you choose equipment that fits their age, goals and budget.
You don’t need to decide alone. Most students begin with a 60-minute lesson, while younger students may benefit from 30 minutes. A 90-minute lesson works well for editing, portfolios, advanced topics and extended photo-shoot experiences. I’ll recommend the best starting point after reviewing your questionnaire.
I have an established photography curriculum, but I adapt it to each student. Lessons may follow a progressive path through camera fundamentals, manual mode, light and composition, or focus on a specific interest such as portraits, sports, nature, editing or portfolio building.
Yes. Virtual lessons are available for camera instruction, visual storytelling, editing, workflow, portfolio development and other topics that can be effectively taught through live video.

That depends on the student’s goals, availability and desire to practice between lessons. Some students begin with one lesson, while others learn weekly, every other week or monthly. I’ll recommend a starting plan without requiring a long-term commitment.
