PHOTO TIP #1

NOTICE WITH ALL 5 SENSES

Our five physical senses bring us directly into the present moment. This is the most important place to be. Learning to use our full body awareness by acknowledging what we see, hear, smell, taste, and touch, gives us a broader sense of what’s really going on around us. This sets the stage for all the possibilities to come.

Don’t just LOOK for things to shoot. Listen, smell, feel, and taste your experiences to really discover what makes that moment so worth capturing. This is all about connecting to a feeling, all of YOUR FEELINGS.

Heights of Brooklyn Travel Landscape Photography by Central Florida Brand Photographer, Danielle Hanusek

I did not see these cars when I first walked up the Brooklyn Bridge to shoot. In fact, I couldn’t see much of anything because it was raining and it was nighttime! But I heard the car horns, I felt the slick rain under my feet, and I could sense the light coming from below me. I was able to capture this image, “The Heights of Brooklyn” because I chose to become aware of all of my senses, not just my sight.

When you pay attention to all of your physical senses, your story can unfold organically because you have expanded your awareness and you are ready to truly see what the moment has to offer.

Now, go grab your camera (or just go to your camera app on your phone!) and snap a shot using this photo tip.
